M.I.OS

Melting Interfaces Operating System, or M.I.OS, is the result of the current Basisklasse at Kunsthochschule Kassel.

Over a course of two weeks, the students thought about digital interfaces and our daily interactions with them, and learned the basics of conceptualizing and creating their first own game.

In teams of two, they created local multiplayer games inspired by interfaces and digital aesthetics. Every single visual asset was physically created with Play-Doh, all the sounds are self-recorded mouth noises and sound effects.
All games are to be played by two people at the same time, one player using WASD, the other one the arrow keys.
